I entered my VIES registered VAT number but an error occurred. What can I do to complete the checkout process?

As first, please make sure that the format of your VIES registered number is correct. You must enter the country code and the number without any space, special chars and symbol ( e.g. DE123456789). If the error persists, it may be because your VAT number is not registered in the VIES database. In this case VAT will be regularly charged.
